Welcome to The Charred House

Imagine blending contemporary coastal design, cutting edge architecture, modern amenities and exciting styling, then wrap it all up with an 18th century Japanese timber technique (shou sugi ban). The Charred House is all this and more.

Tucked into the upper banks of the Erskine River, as the crow flies, the home is ‘central’ Lorne. By foot, a 5 min stroll and by car, well it's hardly worth the trouble.

At street level the house is understated. Charred timbers expose little of what the interior holds. The top level hosts a double lock up garage and entry point. From here on it's eyes wide open.

Silvertop Ash ceiling cladding and Wormy Chestnut timber flooring lead downwards to the main living area. Floor to ceiling windows allow the surrounding foliage to backdrop an impressive open plan. Soft natural tones splashed with color will have your heartbeat slowing to that perfect ‘I’m on holidays’ pace in no time.

There is plenty of room to spread out while not so big as to lose that cosy feel. Whilst the photos speak for themselves some notables in this area include powder room, stone benchtops, Silvertop Ash custom dining & coffee tables, Charred timber feature wall, double sliding doors onto a full width deck with glass balustrade and outdoor furnishings

Flanking the main living area is the master bedroom with ensuite, and walk in robe. The outlook and indeed styling throughout these spaces is all class. 2 further double bedrooms, main bathroom, study and second living space are all located downstairs and as you might expect complement everything above.

All holiday accommodation bookings are accepted on the basis that all occupants will treat the property with the same respect as their own home in accordance with the “House Rules”. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm and 8am.
